Who chooses the Personal Assistant?

You or your authorised representative decide which candidates you would like to meet and whether anyone is suitable for your circumstances, preferences and support requirements.

Bluebell Haven Care does not make the final choice on your behalf.

Who manages the ongoing arrangement?

Once you choose a Personal Assistant, you or your representative agree the ongoing arrangement directly with them.

You remain responsible for the Personal Assistant’s day-to-day direction, working arrangements and ongoing management. Bluebell Haven Care does not direct or control how the Personal Assistant provides support after the introduction.

Who employs or engages the Personal Assistant?

The proposed arrangement will be explained before an introduction proceeds.

Where you employ and pay a Personal Assistant directly, you become their employer and are responsible for the relevant employment, payroll, insurance and workplace obligations. You may wish to obtain independent employment or direct-payment support before making an appointment.

What screening may be completed?

The agreed screening process may include identity, right-to-work, employment-history, reference and Disclosure and Barring Service checks where the role is eligible.

We will explain which checks have been requested or completed and share relevant information before you decide whether to proceed. Screening supports informed decision-making but cannot remove every possible risk.

What happens after the introduction?

After an introduction has been completed, the ongoing relationship is between you and the Personal Assistant.

Bluebell Haven Care may assist with an agreed administrative or replacement-introduction request, but we do not supervise the Personal Assistant, set their daily tasks or manage the support arrangement on your behalf.

What should I do if I have a concern?

Raise any immediate concern directly with the Personal Assistant where it is safe and appropriate to do so.
